So after three joining letters and two locations, I hope this one is final. Yes, you heard it right! TCS has sent me joining letter three times by now, the first one describing my ILP location at Hyderabad and date as 26th December, the second one re-describing it and the third one changing the ILP location to Kolkata, the date being the same, in an attempt to make my ILP location same as my base branch. Now I have little idea on what they meant by base branch, if you say they recruited me from Kolkata, so that’s why my base branch is Kolkata, then there are a lot of other candidates to who has got recruited from Kolkata but are sent to Trivandram, and others to Hyderabad or Chennai or to Ahmedabad. Yes, I gave my first preference as Kolkata but then so did most of the other candidates too, who were sent to Trivandram.
Anyway so I have now 95 days left till I join and I am left
with a bunch of formalities, mostly paper works before I
begin. They will not provide me accommodation as my ILP center was same as my base branch(again!) and hopefully the Housing Rental Allowance(HRA) will not be deducted from my pay (previously when my ILP location was at Hyderabad, I was told I would be given accommodation and the same would be deducted from my pay).

I HAVE GOT KOLKATA FOR ILP WHICH IS MY BASE BRANCH.WILL IT BE CHANGED AGAIN. I HAVE GIVEN MY FRST PREFERENCE AS KOLKATA.
Hello Ranabir, thank you for your comment. As your ILP location is same as your base branch already, I don’t think it will be changed again.
Is there any chance that my posting location will be same as my ilp location (KOLKATA) since my first preference is KOLKATA .
Hello Rama Shankar, yes you have a fair chance that your posting will be in Kolkata since you opted for Kolkata as your first choice.

If its mentioned that “Your ILP location would be the same as your base branch” but we want a change in the base location then what do we need to do??????

I have given Kolkata as my 1st choice but I got Hyderabad as my ILP as well as my base location. So, is there any way out to get my base location changed to kolkata..
Apparently you can’t change your location before 2 years. But see if you can, contact with your ILP co-ordinator. Good luck!

I have placed in tcs in month june, 2012. I have attended an interview in TCS goregon nirlon park mumbai(Off campus). They gave me an invitation letter after the clearing the interview and told me that i will get a call from tcs for my ILP but i haven’t got any call or mail. Even I haven’t got my offer letter till now…..can you please tell me when will i get the offer letter? Please reply soon, i am worried a lot.
